Staying Active and Improving our Community

We take great pride in taking part in community causes. Our employees live and work in the communities of Linn County to support schools, churches, community organizations and youth activities.

Here are some of the causes we support:

  • HomeRun for Hunger (our partnership with the Cedar Rapids Kernels)
  • United Way Day of Caring
  • Community shred days
  • Pancake breakfasts at local elementary schools
  • The Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Rapids
  • Meals on Wheels
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • And much more!

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for all the action!

Employees Tracy Yordi, Melissa Daville, Kallie Nichols, Tiffany Eiselstein and director Linda Edwards are participating in today's United Way Day of Caring. Thanks to their hard work, Horizons now has clean buses!

As the recipient of the 2018 Volunteer Hours Award, Tracy was awarded $500 to donate to her charity of choice. Tracy and her daughter Ella, presented Peggy Stotser and Lisa Geyer from SAINT Cat Adoption Center a check for $500!

Greta, the recipient of the 2018 Volunteer of the Year Award was given $500 to donate to any charity. She choose to split her money between two of her favorite charities! $250 was donated to the Johnson County Crisis Center. The other $250 was donated to Cedar Rapids Animeals.

Congratulations to Greta Hanson this years Volunteer of the Year Award winner! Greta has spent the past year training and volunteering at a crisis hotline. Tracy Yordi for the second year in a row was awarded Most Volunteer Hours at the Credit Union!
